Fire. Heat. Danger. Power.
What more could you ask for in a hobby?

2004/05/30 No, I haven't given up yet. I am still here but I am being held back by space, noise, and dust. It has gotten very difficult (and frustrating) to work in a 6 square meter (64 square foot) apartment room. In particular, I need to figure out a good way to deal with noise and dust containment. I'm really not sure what I am going to do yet. Please be patient...
2004/04/11 Motor test, acquisition of a small arc welder, (and start of carriage cross slide ways, but not very interesting yet).
2004/03/25 Once again another big gap with little progress. Things will continue to be a little slow for a couple more weeks and then I should be able to do a bunch more. In the meantime, I put together a simple tool post.
2004/03/07 Unfortunately, there was very, very little progress this week (too much work!). I cut a nut in half for the split nut mechanism though...

Warning!
These pages only describe what I have done. I can't make any guarantees that anything will work for you. Simply put, melting metal is a dangerous hobby. I am not responsible for anything that you do with this information.

Remember, a hobby is only fun until you're standing in the middle of the street with your family watching your house burn. (http://home.earthlink.net/~jschwytzer/first_melt.html)
